Fast track for E-Marketplace Trademarks Temporarily Unavailable

On September 29, 2026, the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO) reiterated on its website that the fast-track examination procedure for trademarks related to virtual marketplace platforms remains temporarily unavailable, as the number of available slots for this category has been reached, as previously announced on September 9, 2026.
The Office clarified that requests will be rejected if they attempt to use other available priority examination categories for virtual marketplace situations.
The BRPTO is currently reviewing this fast-track modality. A new ordinance concerning the availability of slots is expected to be published in the coming months, with entry into force scheduled for January 2027.
